The patient, male, was in his thirties, with a strong body, dark complexion, greasy face and bad breath, and chief complaint of abdominal distension, dry stools. The tongue is slightly red, and the base of the tongue is greasy and white with floating yellow colour. Pulse: right guan is strong. Abdominal examination: full abdominal distention and refusal to press, abdominal tension. This is the evidence of “Fu Shi” syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine, and Houpu Qiwu Decoction is used for two days. After taking the medicine, the patient started to defecate four times a day. After that, he felt relaxed and the symptoms subsided.
In this case, although the patient did not have obvious constipation, he always felt he did not pass his stool completely, indicating that there was stagnation in the fu-organ, and together with the tongue and pulse indication, the result is very effective.
