[Case study] Herbal medicine helps with two Covid-19 cases

One patient, female, over 40 years old, Asian, complained of being positive for the Covid-19 test. After she and her husband had dinner with another family, the other party informed her that they were diagnosed with the Covid-19 positive. She immediately did the self-test and it was positive, and her husband tested negative. Her current symptoms were mild, no fever, no cough, a bit of body fatigue, throat discomfort, abdominal pain, sticky stool, normal urination, pale red tongue with thin white coating, and slightly thirsty. It was the online diagnosis, so there was no pulse information.
This is the very early stage of Wen disease in TCM. From the four stages of Wen disease, Wei, Qi, Ying and Xue, there are only a few symptoms of Wei level disease, and there is no sign of heat/fire on the tongue. Three days dosages were given with the formula for Wen diseases. And remote guidance for cupping-assisted therapy was given as well.
The patient reported on the second day that after taking the medicine, she had abdominal pain and then excretion of stool at the night. The next day, she was in good spirits and began to cough a little. There were no further signs of fever on the tongue, indicating that the disease had not penetrated deeper. At the same time, the patient said that her husband started to have a fever, but the test was always negative. She asked me to help him. In this case, although the test is negative, there is obviously a very high probability of being infected with the Covid-19.
The patient, male, over 40 years old, Asian, the main symptoms include a high fever of 38 ℃, dry and sore throat, swollen tonsils, body aches, feeling cold and hot, no sweat, no cough, bloated head, no obvious thirst. The tip of the tongue is red and the tongue body is slightly red. It can be seen that the patient has reached the stage of significant Wei level disease. No sweating, no thirst, it means that the disease has not developed to Qi level. Three doses of Wen disease prescription were given.
After taking it that night, the fever subsided the next morning.
After two more days of follow-up, the male patient reported no other discomfort, only a slight cough, but felt a bit thirsty and wanted to drink cold water, but the “big issue” had passed. This shows that the disease has mostly improved, but there is still a small amount of residual heat, so it shows thirst. The female patient reported a small amount of nasal congestion, a slight cough, and no discomfort. The patient did not request continued treatment due to mild symptoms.
As a review of the treatment of two patients, they were infected at almost the same time, but they started taking herbal medicine at a different time. The woman took the medicine in the very early stage of Wei-level, and some typical symptoms appeared, but the symptoms were very mild throughout the process, indicating that the disease has been controlled at an early stage. The man was treated at the typical stage of Wei-level with high fever and other typical Covid symptoms. The symptoms were relieved very quickly, and the disease did not further enter the Qi stage. Because the medication was not continued later, a small tail was left in the end. These mild symptoms usually go away on their own.
